What is Hyper-V?
Hyper-V is a virtualization platform from Microsoft. It comes in different versions and is part of the Windows Server operating system. Hyper-V is used to create and manage virtual machines. With virtualization, you can run several operating systems and programs on one and the same physical computer. In this way, resources can be used in the best possible way. Hyper-V has many uses. For example, you can use it to test different programs and operating systems in different environments. It is also possible to use Hyper-V to create virtual machines for various services. Examples of this are web servers, databases and e-mail servers. Hyper-V is one of several virtualization platforms on the market. Other platforms are VMware and VirtualBox.
