What is Erlang?
Erlang is a programming language specifically designed for developing distributed systems and real-time applications. The language was developed by Ericsson to manage complex telecommunications systems, but has since been used in various fields such as finance, game development and IoT. One of the main characteristics of Erlang is its built-in support for parallelism and fail-safe. The language uses so-called actor models and lightweight processes to make it easier for developers to create robust and scalable systems. Erlang also has built-in error handling tools and dedicated resources, making it easier to detect and correct problems in real time. Although Erlang is primarily known in the telecommunications industry, the language has also become popular in other fields due to its unique features. Other similar programming languages used for parallel programming and distributed systems include Scala, Clojure, and Elixir.
