What is EDIFACT?
EDIFACT is a standard for electronic data exchange used in the business industry. The standard defines the format and structure for exchanging different types of business documents electronically between different organizations. By using EDIFACT, companies can efficiently send and receive various business documents, such as orders, invoices and delivery confirmations, in a standardized way. This saves time and reduces the risk of errors when manually handling paper documents. There are also other standards for electronic data exchange, such as XML and ANSI X12. However, EDIFACT continues to be a common standard within certain industries and geographical areas. It is important for organizations to understand and adapt to EDIFACT in order to effectively communicate with their business partners and optimize their business processes.
