Updates & improvements to the Demando company platform

  1. September Release for Companies

    2024-10-01

    ·

    Company platform

We’ve made several important updates to the Company Platform to streamline your hiring process and improve overall functionality. Here’s what’s new:

    Find Talent and Matching Relevance

The Find Talent section has been refreshed with a cleaner, more intuitive design to help you browse candidates effortlessly.

One highlight is the new action bar that makes it easier to contact candidates directly. Need to customize your offer or message? Simply hit "edit" to personalize details like salary, perks, or your communication—tailoring it to each candidate's profile.

On the matching side, we’ve made significant improvements to how candidates are ranked for your positions. We’ve introduced an enhanced scoring algorithm along with a clear, visible rating system to help you quickly assess candidate suitability:

    • Three stars: Candidates who fully meet your key requirements, including relevant experience and all must-have skills.
    • Two stars: Candidates who are a strong match but may be missing one or two qualifications, while still possessing the must-have skills.
    • One star: Less relevant candidates, but still worth considering for specific roles or particular needs.

Additionally, we’ve added Activity Segments to prioritize candidates who are actively looking for new opportunities. Candidates who haven’t been active recently are now ranked lower and marked with a symbol. Keep in mind, these candidates are still qualified—they may just be a bit slower to respond.

These updates aim to make it easier to find the right talent faster, while giving you more flexibility in how you engage with candidates.

    Message Page Refresh

We’ve given the Message Page a complete redesign to make communication more efficient:

Inbox Filters: Easily filter and organize your messages based on the type of conversations or processes you want to focus on.

Sidebar Update: The redesigned sidebar now surfaces the most relevant candidate and process information, helping you access important details faster.

    New Integrations Hub

We’ve introduced an Integrations Section to centralize the management of third-party tools like Teamtailor. This update makes it easier to manage and track your connected integrations.

    Platform-Wide Design Updates

In addition to the Find Talent refresh, we’ve made design updates across the entire platform. The goal was to keep the interface more consistent and easier to navigate. We’ve also made improvements to the mobile experience, making it smoother for those who work on the go.

These are the highlights, but we’ve also rolled out numerous bug fixes, enhancements, and performance optimizations across the platform. These updates are designed to further streamline your hiring workflow and improve overall functionality, ensuring a smoother and more efficient user experience.

We have some good news for you. Demando now integrates with Teamtailor, streamlining your recruitment process. Candidates assigned to a Teamtailor position will automatically sync with Teamtailor, right where you're managing all your hiring activities.

    Benefits

    • Seamless Workflow: Easily manage candidates without frequently switching platforms.
    • Automated Syncing: Candidate info updates automatically between Demando and Teamtailor.
    • Increased Efficiency: Focus more on hiring and less on admin work.

We hope this makes your hiring process smoother. If you're interested in this closed beta, please reach out to hello@demando.io for more details.

    ·

    Company platform

A small but nice feature for the Inbox view lands in Demando today! You can now resize the left and right window panes.

That's all from us for now, but you'll definitely hear from us soon again...

  4. Early Bird Contact Requests

    2024-02-09

    ·

    Company platform

We're excited to announce a new feature that gives you a head start on connecting with talented candidates!

Starting today, you can now send contact requests to candidates even if your company profile is still under review. This means you can begin building your pipeline and expressing your interest early, but the requests will remain invisible to the candidates until your profile is officially approved.

We hope this feature helps you streamline your recruitment process and attract top talent!

  5. Quick Contact

    2024-02-09

    ·

    Company platform

Today, we're revealing a major update to how you indicate your interest in a candidate.

Previously, you had to fill out a lengthy form with details about your contact request, including a title, initial message, template, recruiter, and more.

Starting today, this process is becoming significantly easier. You can now simply hit the "Quick Contact" button while browsing candidates to show your interest. Demando will automatically pre-fill the minimum necessary information needed for the request.

All you need to do is double-check the salary and click the green button! There will be no message sent with the request initially. Instead, the candidate will be prompted to send the first message after accepting.

We hope this makes it much easier for you to source candidates on Demando.

  6. Job description text editor

    Wysiwyg Position Editor

    2024-01-29

    ·

    Company platform

Today we're releasing an update to our position creator. From now on, you will have a lot more formatting options when it comes to your position description. We've added this so that you can structure your description better, and make the content easier to grasp for candidates.

The following formatting/editing options are now available:

    • Undo
    • Redo
    • Bold
    • Italic
    • Underline
    • Strike-through
    • Unordered bullet lists
    • Numbered lists
    • Links
    • Headings (level 2-5)

We might add more formatting options, like images, videos and better emoji support in the future, but we hope these should significantly improve the authoring experience of positions on Demando!

  7. Demando Is Now Mobile Friendly

    2024-01-22

    ·

    Company platform

Today we're releasing a big update to the company platform that has been requested for quite some time!

Demando for companies is now mobile friendly! This means that it'll be a lot easier for you and your colleagues to handle processes, source and contact candidates, chat with potential new colleagues, and do your job on the go.

We hope this should make you and your team's experience on Demando even better!

  8. A sidebar with candidates and a candidate profile to the right

A new experience for finding talent

    2023-07-05

    ·

    Company platform

Today we're releasing something that we've been working on for quite some time. A new experience for finding talent on Demando.

In this new version, we've built a view with a sidebar of candidates to the left, and a view of the profile to the right. This should help you browse candidates way faster. Clicking "Contact" on a candidate will bring up a new contact view with a revamped, redesigned, and improved contact form.

We hope this change should make it even easier for you and your team to find and vet talent on Demando.

If you have any feedback for us, please don't hesitate to let us know what could be better!

  9. Accept applications settings

    2023-06-22

    ·

    Company platform

You can now choose on a position whether you want to accept applications or not. Scroll down to "Advanced settings" when creating or editing your position, then choose what you prefer. If you click "Not accepting" candidates will not be able to apply for this position, but you can still send contact requests. If you change your mind, you can always go back and update it, to allow applications.

If you're already in contact with candidates who've applied to your application and have just enough on your hands already, it might be a good idea to go in here and pause applications for a while. The candidates you're working with won't go anywhere, you just get a bit more breathing room to do your work.

  10. Download candidate CV as PDF

    2023-06-07

    ·

    Company platform

Today we're releasing a small but nice feature that allows you to download a candidate's Demando profile as a PDF. By default, their salary expectation will be included in the PDF, but you can also choose to download it without the salary, making it easier to share with the rest of your team.

We hope this addition should make your experience working with Demando even smoother!

  11. Improved in-app onboarding

    2023-03-31

    ·

    Company platform

Today we're releasing an updated way of getting started with Demando! Entering the dashboard, you will now see a "Get started" section. Here you will find the necessary steps to get up and running as fast and smoothly as possible. When you've finished the onboarding steps, this section will no longer be visible, and you can focus on what matters, the "Unhandled candidates", and "Matching talent" sections.

If you want to book a demo with someone from our customer success team, there's also a link! We hope this addition should make it even easier for you and your team to start recruiting through Demando!

  12. A vertical list of 3 candidates

    Improvements to talent matching

    2023-03-23

    ·

    Company platform

Today we're launching an improved talent-matching engine. Here's a quick summary.

    Improved ranking

We've improved the talent matching algorithm to rank candidates better according to the positions you've set up. You'll get a more comprehensive selection of candidates, sorted and ranked according to how well they fit your role, how likely they are to respond to a contact request, and how experienced they are.

    Must have skills

Our search algorithm also improves the selection by filtering out candidates that lack technologies you've marked as required and will rank up candidates that match the nice-to-haves. We are also now filtering out candidates that don't qualify for any language requirements you've set up on your profile.

    Better, faster, stronger

We constantly improve our search algorithm, making it faster and better at finding the right talent for you and your team!

  13. Candidate rejection reason

    2023-03-09

    ·

    Company platform

Today we released an improved flow for rejecting candidates on Demando. Previously, you only clicked a button to reject the candidate, but couldn't specify the reasoning behind it. Now though, clicking the "Reject candidate..." button in the right-hand sidebar in the process view will open up a dialog. Here you can now choose between a list of reasons for why you're rejecting. This information is only used for your team to keep up with what's happening in each process. If you also want to add a comment about the candidate, there's a textbox in the same dialog for that now! The comment will only be shared with your team, and won't be shown to the candidate.

We hope these enhancements should make it easier for you and your team to find and interview great talent!

  14. A kanban board showing all processes

    Enhanced Processes overview

    2023-02-22

    ·

    Company platform

Today we're releasing an update to the Processes overview kanban board. Now, all unhandled candidates, either applications or ones who have accepted a request of yours, will get grouped into the section called "Unhandled candidates". You can now also drag candidates from the "Applications" and "Accepted requests" columns into any of the other columns.

We hope this should give you a better overview of your processes and make them even easier to manage!

  15. GitHub profile preview

    2023-02-10

    ·

    Company platform

Today we're releasing a small but nice feature called "GitHub profile preview". This adds a widget in the process sidebar that lists a candidate's GitHub repositories if they've chosen to add one. It shows their GitHub username, a list of repositories, and a button for viewing their full profile. Each repository contains information such as

    • Title
    • Description
    • Amount of stars
    • Amount of forks
    • Main programming language

If you click one, it will open up the full repository on github.com, where you can read the README file, clone it, or read some of the code. We hope this should make the way you screen candidates even faster, and help you gage someone's ability to write code.

  16. Improved pausing of processes

    2023-02-09

    ·

    Company platform

Today we're releasing a big update to the "Pause process" feature in Demando. Previously, you have only been able to pause a process for 30 days, which caused issues if you wanted to pick up a process with a candidate in a year or so. Now though, we've introduced the possibility to pause a process by choosing from a predefined set of time ranges and specifying a custom date completely.

To do this, hit the "Pause process" button from the process sidebar in the chat view. This will bring up a popup allowing you to drag the slider to select the amount of time you want to pause the process for. The available options here are:

    • 1 week
    • 3 weeks
    • 1 month
    • 3 months
    • 6 months
    • 1 year

    Custom dates

If none of the above predefined time ranges are enough, you can click the blue link below the slider to choose a custom date from the calendar. This allows you to only pause the process for a few days, or if you want to, even a couple of years. Another new feature in this release is the addition of text showing what date the process is paused until. This will be visible above the "Resume process" button if the process is paused.

We hope these improvements will help you manage your processes even easier!
