What is Vulnerability Assessment?
Vulnerability assessment is a process for identifying, analyzing and prioritizing vulnerabilities in a system or network component. The process usually includes a technical analysis of the system to find vulnerabilities, as well as an assessment of the severity of these vulnerabilities. The vulnerability assessment process is often used to find vulnerabilities in systems before they are exploited by an attacker, and is an important part of preventive security work. The process can also be used after an attack has been carried out, to find vulnerabilities that may have been exploited by attacks. Vulnerability assessment is an important skill in the security area, and there are several different tools and methods for carrying out a vulnerability assessment. A common method is to use a so-called vulnerability management system, which helps manage and track vulnerabilities in a system. There are also different types of vulnerability management systems, both for companies and for individuals. For companies there are often more advanced systems, while for private individuals there are simpler systems. Vulnerability assessment is a complex process, and there are many different aspects to consider. However, the process can be summarized i
