What is Ruby?
Ruby is a programming language launched in 1995 by Yukihiro Matsumoto. The language is built on the paradigms of object-oriented programming and function-oriented programming. Ruby has its own virtual machine, MRI (Matz's Ruby Interpreter). Ruby is mainly used in web development, as it can be used to create server programs and web pages. Ruby is also often used for prototyping and for creating small scripts. Ruby has a very simple syntax, and it is easy to learn. Ruby also has a very active and large community. Ruby can be compared to other programming languages such as Python and Perl.
