What is PCI DSS?
PCI DSS is a technology/skill used to ensure that credit card payments are handled securely. It does this by requiring businesses that accept credit card payments to follow a set of security rules. These rules include the requirements for how card information must be handled, how transactions must be logged and how the systems must be configured to minimize the risk of card information leakage. PCI DSS is developed by the five largest credit card companies (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and JCB) and is a globally recognized standard for security in credit card payments.
