What is MPEG2?
MPEG2 is a standard for digital video and audio compression. It is mainly used in the broadcast and DVD industry to compress video and audio data without losing quality. The standard was developed by MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) and is used to create MPEG2 files that can be played on different devices and platforms. MPEG2 files can also be edited and converted to other formats using various programs and tools. There are other standards for digital video and audio compression, such as MPEG4, H.264 and HEVC. These standards offer different advantages and are used for different purposes, but MPEG2 remains a common standard in the broadcast and DVD industries.
