What is MDT?
MDT, or Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, is a tool used to deploy operating systems and software to computers within an organization. MDT makes it possible to automate and customize the installation process, saving time and reducing the risk of human error. With MDT, users can create standardized installation images that contain the operating system, drivers, software, and settings needed for each computer on the network. These installation images can be distributed over the network or on an external storage device to quickly configure and install new computers or update existing ones. MDT is a popular tool in IT administration and is used by many organizations to streamline and standardize their installation processes. By automating repetitive tasks and minimizing manual intervention, MDT can help ensure a consistent and reliable operating environment for all users. Other similar tools used for deployment of Windows operating systems are System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Windows Deployment Services (WDS).
