The opportunity  We are looking for a driven AI / Backend Engineer to join our team. This role blends backend/API development, cloud infrastructure expertise, and hands-on integration of cutting-edge AI services. You’ll help shape how we integrate generative AI into real-world applications, delivering a value-creating AI first solution to end-users in short iterative feedback loops. You’ll be a key contributor to our state-of-the-art platform. We believe you are excited to be working with the modern Gen AI ecosystem, including LLMs and other types of models, and to keep up with its rapid evolution. The team is utilizing Metrics Driven Development (MDD) and evaluation, the methodology behind creating production-strength Gen AI powered solutions, and LLM observability. You should feel confident evaluating complex technical challenges, proposing improvements, and helping shape solutions from a systems-level perspective.  Key Responsibilities  - Develop and maintain Python-based backend APIs.  - Design and implement CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.  - Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Bicep).  - Integrate and manage cloud databases.  - Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, ensuring seamless backend-frontend integration.  - Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers on development of AI features.  - Contribute to system architecture discussions and apply solid design patterns in your work.  - Integrate AI services and APIs into backend solutions, including LLMs, Speech to Text, Video to Text, embeddings, search algorithms.  - Setup observability for the system. Monitoring, logging and tracing. Must-Have Skills  - Strong experience in backend/API development, focusing on clean, modular, production-quality code with several shipped apps or services.  - Experience with Git and creating robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.  - Experience with cloud infrastructure, including designing, deploying and managing live applications.  - Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep).  - Ability to collaborate with frontend or full-stack teams, understanding the intersection between backend services and frontend/cloud resources.  - Practical experience working with LLMs, including prompt engineering, API usage, context management, and integration.  - A growth mindset with curiosity, resilience, and grit -  turning complex challenges into opportunities to learn and improve.
