What is CAD?
CAD, or computer aided design, is a technical skill used to create and modify digital two- and three-dimensional models of physical objects. CAD skills are often necessary to perform technical and engineering tasks, such as designing buildings or constructing mechanical parts. CAD skills are also useful for creating graphics and animations. CAD skills are not a single skill, but instead a collection of different techniques and tools used to create and modify digital models. CAD skills often include knowledge of various computer modeling programs, 3D printing, and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software. CAD skills are often comparable to other technical and engineering skills, such as BIM (building information modeling) and CAE (computer aided engineering).
