What is AAR?
AAR is an abbreviation for Aircraft Accident and Incident Reporting System, which is a system used to report aviation-related accidents and incidents. The system is designed to collect and analyze data on aviation accidents and incidents to improve aviation safety. The AAR system is used by airlines, airports, authorities and other actors in the aviation industry to report on incidents that may have affected aviation safety. By collecting data on accidents and incidents, patterns and trends can be identified that can lead to improvements in safety procedures and preventive measures. There are various systems and programs that offer similar functions to AAR to facilitate the reporting of aviation accidents and incidents. Examples of other reporting systems in aviation safety are Safety Management Systems (SMS), Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) and Flight Data Monitoring (FDM).
