About the role:
* As a Data Science consultant, you are expected to have one or several assignments for our clients, be part of the Helicon team, and work closely with developers
* Your main task will be to build and maintain machine learning models and pipelines for our clients
* The focus will be models for time series forecasting, as part of a bigger system/application: build and test new models ranging from basic statistical models to cutting-edge deep learning models
* Evaluate and maintain models throughout their life cycle
* Be an integral part of the data science team, be a team player, and have a passion for building and sharing knowledge, especially knowledge that adds value to our clients

What we are looking for:
* Background from a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering etc
* +3 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, including experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning modeling
* +3 years of experience working with the Python data science stack (Pandas, Dask Numpy, PyTorch, Keras, Tensorflow, Pyspark/Spark)
* Experience working with time series analysis and forecasting
* Knowledge of, and experience with, building pipelines for machine learning models
* Experience with developing and maintaining machine learning models
* Experience using different databases and/or building data engineering pipelines
* Experience with developing infrastructure and/or applications, preferably in relation to machine learning (MLOps)
* Based in Stockholm with a valid work permit

Bonus;
* Experience working in the infrastructure in the energy field
* Previous experience as a consultant
* Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
* Experience using microservices

About us;
Helicon builds software for energy companies and startups with energy-related products (e.g ABB, Polarium, Stockholm Exergi). Our experienced software engineers and data scientists specialize in product development, data engineering, and cloud infrastructure.

A typical project includes some kind of data infrastructure (where we use tools like: Kubernetes, Airflow, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, Kafka), a machine learning component (typically built around Spark and Tensorflow), APIs and software to facilitate communication between services (e.g. Python, FastAPI, Django, Kafka, RabbitMQ), and UIs where end-users can operate the system and visualize data and analyses (e.g. React, ThreeJS, WebGL).

About you;
You’re super-passionate about code and technology.
You’re pretty much fluent in Python, and preferably also got experience with Django.
You enjoy discovering, defining, and solving problems.
You make pragmatic scoping decisions and are able to explain why the team is doing something a certain way.
You work with your team to tackle technical challenges and to level up in the process.
You can theorize and think in abstractions, but understand the importance of getting things done.
You strike a balance between moving fast and creating scalable and maintainable solutions.

About the role;
Provide mentoring and push the team forward in terms of back-end development methodologies.
Rapidly and precisely plan and execute back-end application development projects.
Perform positive code reviews and provide meaningful feedback.
Build and lead back-end development teams and initiatives.

What we are looking for;
4+ years experience with a reasonably up-to-date back-end stack.
Experience with running deployments on AWS and/or Azure.
You write high quality code that is easy to read, understand, and test.
Strong understanding of Docker and Git.
Fundamental understanding of profiling and performance optimization.
Leadership experience and strong communication skills.
Work permit in a EU country.

Bonus ;
Experience with one or more of the following tools that we use: Kubernetes, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Timescale, Tensorflow, Keras.
Basic Python knowledge.
